  • Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL Surgery

A Brazilian butt lift involves the removal of fat from other areas of the body (such as abdominal upper, lower, and lower back arch) and then injecting it into your buttocks for a natural lift. It’s fair to say that some people have a BBL for improving their look, but many have it after losing lots of weight, serious disfigurement after pelvic trauma or practical problems.

But compared to a traditional buttocks augmentation procedure, BBL surgery has the added advantage of improving your butt contour as it puts your curves in the right places. It also looks a lot more natural because it uses your fats to reshape your butt.

The volume of fat to be injected is an important factor. 300 ml is considered a relatively safe standard, but it has been seen that many surgeons are also using much larger volume of fat.

Before Surgery

We highly recommend you to stop smoking as this will influence the healing process of the wound. Smoking after the surgery is not permitted for the same reason as mentioned above. Medication could also affect the healing process. Medication such as aspirin and certain anti-inflammatory drugs prevent the blood from clotting, which is not good for the healing process. Ask your doctor about preoperative instructions with your medication.

The Surgery

The surgery is performed in three steps. First, the surgeon takes fat from other areas of the body (such as abdominal upper, lower, lower back arch, thighs) using slender cannulas with small holes. This is known as liposuction. At the second step, the fat is purified and only 25% of fat is re-injected into the butt. At the third step, purified fat is re-injected into the various depth of the buttocks. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and lasts 1-3 hours.

After Surgery

Swelling and bruising will continue for a few months. You will be given a special compression garment to decrease swelling. You are not able to sit for long periods of time for two weeks. Whenever you sit, you will use a special cushion. You will not be able to sleep on your back for a few weeks. If you are working an office job, you can go back to work after two weeks. After 4-6 weeks you can do sport and other activities.
